Supreme Court Panel Investigates Justice Yashwant Varma's Actions: Who Are the Three Judges Leading the Inquiry?

  A three-member inquiry committee, appointed by the Supreme Court, commenced its investigation into Delhi High Court Judge Justice Yashwant Varma’s conduct, visiting his home on Tuesday afternoon. Justice Varma is facing scrutiny after bundles of burnt currency were allegedly found at his residence during a fire. The inquiry panel includes Chief Justice Sheel Nagu of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chief Justice G.S. Sandhawalia of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, and Justice Anu Sivaraman of the Karnataka High Court. The committee spent approximately 45 minutes at Justice Varma’s residence. Russian President Vladimir Putin indicated on Thursday that he might consider a month-long ceasefire proposed by the United States and Ukraine, but he attached a series of conditions that could complicate or derail any potential agreement.

The ceasefire plan, brokered through talks between US and Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia, would temporarily halt hostilities in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, which has now entered its third year following Putin’s invasion in 2022. While Ukraine has shown some openness to the ceasefire, Putin’s list of demands raises concerns about whether such a truce can be realistically achieved.
